A book just round the corner

In an initiative to encourage reading amongst the Maltese, the Bormla local council hosted an activity during which books, government and private funds and donations were distributed to local and regional libraries. These libraries have been devolved to the responsibility of local councils.

The event also featured the launching of a new directory of local libraries, in Maltese and English. The directory, compiled by the Department of Information, includes a message from the MaLIA Chairman and a comprehensive list with contact details of all the public libraries found in Maltese islands.
