Enhancing accessibility to historical research

In a letter to The Sunday Times (1 April 2007), Prof. Mario  Buhagiar, President of the Malta Historical Society, commented on recent developemnts. Following the statement by Malta Historical Society on access to the Hansard Reports and the School log-books, the National Archivist had clarified important aspects related to the school log-books and the National Archives Act(2005).

In his letter to The Sunday Times, Prof. Buhagiar praised the work done by the National Archives and remarked that he has been informed by the Director of the National Library that the necessary steps will be taken to rescue the entire Hansard collection and make it once again available to researchers and students.
