Broadcating Authority issue resolved
Following letters in the press by the MaLIA and the Friends of the Archives , the issue has now been resolved. The issue was about the advert for the post of Information and Records Officer with the Broadcasting Authority. Both MaLIA and the Friends of the Archives showed their concern about the fact that the application was not open to persons with qualifications in archives and records managements and library and information studies. MaLIA had in fact written to the CEO of the BA showing its concern about this omission. The advert has now been republished with an extension for the closing date as well as the inclusion of the mentioned qualifications. The MaLIA Council would like to thank the CEO of the Broadcasting Authority, Dr Kevin Aquilina, for the cooperation in this matter. 28.09.2008
